{ trisha standing on the rooftops waiting till the bomb drops
Trisha grinned at Rosaline, “Yeah, I should quit or something…” she joked, not exactly sure if she could quit. She’d been assigned the job when she’d first arrived and hadn’t paid much attention to whoever had explained the work system in Neclymoure to her. She wasn’t even sure if she got paid. A silence stretched for a moment, and Trisha noticed how tired Rosaline seemed to be, slapping herself and shaking her head. She was about to ask when the woman beat her to it. ”Aren't you tired?" Seeing Rosaline that tired reminded Trisha of how late it was, and she yawned involuntarily, covering her mouth with her hand.
“Now that you mention it, yeah. I’m shattered.” She said after it had finished. Trisha guessed all the adrenaline from her jump had warn off and now her body was telling itself to get some sleep so it could start mending her various scrapes and bruises. All of a sudden her eyelashes felt heavy and she blinked once or twice quickly, temporarily waking herself up. I should be going… She thought, Rosaline has probably had enough of me for one night, and I need some sleep anyway.
Glancing back at the gap which she’d jumped over, she wondered how she was going to get back to her house. No way was she going that way again, her feet protested at the very thought of another jump. Anyway, she remembered her window had slid closed after she’d climbed out of it, and she couldn’t open it from the outside. Turning back Rosaline she asked, “Uh, you wouldn’t show me the way into the building would you? I don’t fancy jumping over there again” She gestured to the gap.
It wasn’t unusual for Trisha to be functioning on little sleep, she’d often stayed up late when she was on the outside, and since being in Neclymoure she’d avoided sleep like the devil. Her body had adapted in some form to the lack of rest, and she didn’t feel that tired often, but now she could feel her bed calling to her, and she wasn’t going to resist.

r o s a l i n e x x Rosaline's own laughter echoes Trisha's at the joke, but then her mouth stretches up into another yawn. Damn contagious things.
Nodding, Rosaline looks down at the ground with her sleepy eyes and wonders when Trisha usually goes to sleep. Is staying up late routine for her? It must be hard to get up in the morning after being awake most of the night, Rosaline imagines, and then realizes that that will probably be the case for tomorrow morning.
"Yeah, we should probably both get to bed," she says. Really, she wouldn't mind dosing off right on the roof, as she had almost did earlier, but she knows that would result in a lot of soreness.
And idea strike her, and she adds, "Maybe we can take the day off tomorrow to sleep in, then I can try to start teaching you how to read. I don't think Ben could get too mad with that as your excuse and me as back up." Even though she hates to think of herself as "above" anyone else, because the council certainly isn't all that powerful, Rosaline might be able to use some influence on the shop owner to let Trisha off the hook about skipping work for a day.
“Uh, you wouldn’t show me the way into the building would you? I don’t fancy jumping over there again.”
Rosaline takes in a deep breathe, hoping the oxygen will sharpen her sleep-deprived skills temporarily, and inches towards the edge of the roof. You can't see it through the darkness, but right below where she sits, in the center of the wall, there is a window. The screen has been taken out by Rosaline herself since there aren't any bugs in Neclymoure, and climbing in and out of it is fairly easy.
"All you have to do is hop down there onto the ledge of the window (but don't jump down too hard, just so you don't fall). It's not the far, even though you can't see it this late. Then you can just jump to the ground." Rosaline smiles at Trisha, then slides off the edge of the roof, her fingers gripping onto the edge until she knows her feet are right where they should be. After she lets go of the roof, her feet reach the window, and she slips inside gracefully and waits for Trisha to come down.

She nodded at Rosaline’s words, the prospect of a nice comfy bed to sleep in at the fore front of her mind. “That’d be nice, thanks.” She tried to smile, but her mouth turned it into a yawn and she covered it with her mouth, thinking how stupid that must have looked. “I think a lie in would be just right” Ben wouldn’t be very happy about her sudden holiday, but with a council member backing her up, he could hardly argue. She was pleasantly surprised at the way Rosaline used her council place to get her the day off, but she got the feeling that it didn’t happen very often, it was probably just a one off.
It was good anyway, a sleepy Trisha decided and she didn’t dwell anymore about it. Blinking sleep from her eyes, she listened to Rosaline’s instructions and gingerly stood up, testing out her feet. They were painful, but they would do for now, and she half-hobbled over to where the other girl was lowering herself over the roof. It didn’t look too far (not that she could see much), but however big it was it would certainly be easier than going back the way she’d came.
She sat down on the roof and slowly lowered her body down, twisting so that her face was towards the wall. It wasn’t unlike the process she had at her own home, and she guessed that these buildings were extremely similar, if not the same. When her feet were safely resting on the ledge below the window, she looks into the face of Rosaline waiting in the gap. “Uh… I’ll meet you in the library then? Around noon?” Trisha doesn’t have a watch, and midday is the only time she can accuratly guess. Also, she wanted to allow several hours for her lie in. Another yawn escapes her lips, and she apologises quietly to the brunette.
“I better be going then,” she said, glancing down dubiously at the earth beneath her. Without waiting for a reply from Rosaline, she took a deep breath and jumped, following the advice she’d given herself when she’d jumped the gap. Don’t think about it.
Jolting to the ground, Trisha let out her breath in relief, glad to find the floor where she had thought it was. “See you.” She called up to the window, where Rosaline stood. The image of her bed suddenly took over the girl’s mind and she closed her eyes, picturing it. Turning her back on the building, she walked into the night towards her own house, almost dead on her feet. Boy was she tired.
